Oceanography Concept Visualizations: Checklist & Rubric

 


Activity: Create a visual representation of an oceanography concept.

Checklist (Student Use):

  • [ ] Concept Selection: Choose one oceanography concept (e.g., ocean, marine, organism, ecosystem, scientist).
  • [ ] Research: Gather information about your chosen concept from reliable sources.
  • [ ] Visual Type: Decide on the type of visual representation you will create (e.g., diagram, infographic, map, model, digital art, short animation).
  • [ ] Key Elements: Identify the key elements you need to include in your visual to accurately represent the concept.
  • [ ] Visual Design: Plan the layout, colors, and overall design to make your visual clear, engaging, and easy to understand.
  • [ ] Creation: Create your visual representation using appropriate materials or software.
  • [ ] Labeling & Captions: Label all important parts of your visual and include a brief caption explaining the concept.
  • [ ] Review: Review your visual to ensure accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
  • [ ] Presentation (If applicable): Prepare a short explanation of your visual and the concept it represents (if presenting to the class).
